High School Technical Internship - Cerner
Cerner’s Software Engineers are instrumental in the development and support of Cerner’s leading edge clinical and management information systems. Be part of a team and look forward to a positive, productive experience. Interns are equipped with the latest tools and technology and have the possibility of returning as full-time associates. When considering an internship, please keep in mind that Cerner asks for a three-month commitment.

Youth Advocacy Project Manager - City of Kansas City, Missouri
Research national youth programs and policy,
assist with administrative duties and implementation of youth-oriented projects. Interns may present findings to the City Council, city manager and mayor.

High School Internship - Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
Perform background research requested by the vice president for education or other Foundation staff that will enable the Kauffman Foundation to identify and award grants to worthy investigators, programs, school districts or schools. Conduct interviews, administer surveys, compile results of questionnaires, undertake observations or undertake other forms of data collection with the support of appropriate Foundation staff. Complete specific assignments in an independent manner.
Act as a positive and effective part of the Foundation, working to advance the Foundation’s culture of teamwork.

Culinary Intern - Hyatt Regency Crown Center
This is an entry-level culinary opportunity. Cook in one of seven restaurant outlets or banquet kitchens. Responsibilities range from food preparation to cooking on the line. Each day provides diverse opportunities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Radio Production Assistant - Interiors By Design, Inc. (two positions)
Living Large, a design and lifestyle news magazine airing on News Radio 980 KMBZ and Classical 1660 KXTR, is looking for a creative, ambitious and motivated high school junior or senior to serve as a production assistant during an eight-week internship. The intern must show initiative, creativity and have strong written and verbal skills.

 

2007 LaunchPad Internship Opportunities

Pharmacy Service Associate
Pharmacy service associates are given an entry-level introduction to pharmacy as a career. Five interns work as crew members performing many duties, including front store customer service; cash register training; receiving and checking in deliveries; pricing merchandise; working in the photography laboratory; completing phase I pharmacy training; assisting with merchandising and displays; and performing inventory and ordering practices. Upon successful completion of an internship, youth are eligible for employment with the pharmacy during the school year and can continue to take part in the program through their post-secondary education, including apprenticeships and pharmacy school.

Validation Test Engineering Internship
Intern supports independent system validation programs and requirements-based system validation testing on advanced railway signaling systems and products, along with working on multi-disciplinary new product development teams supporting test execution and test development. The intern is responsible for documenting technical data, providing timely communication and completing other tasks as needed. Work goals include achievement of program quality and delivery objectives. Must be 18 or older.

Web Site Designer
Intern’s primary responsibilities include continually updating corporate Web sites and researching how to enhance a site’s Internet search engine presence.

Culinary Intern

High School Intern
Working in a supportive atmosphere that encourages hard work and original thought, intern makes immediate and meaningful contributions to a foundation’s work in education. He or she explores the consequential thinking of the best minds in the fields in which the foundation works. The internship is offered to a high-caliber student interested in the fields of economics, public policy, technology/sciences, education and mathematics.

Research and Production Assistant
Intern conducts online research, compiles information, works with staff to develop an online resource library and creates new program collateral. The research and production assistant also assists with various office assignments as needed.
